It has been some time since I last wrote a few words on the plane, this time I’m heading up to Joburg for the 3rd edition of the Altech Autopage Jozi2Kozi.
With Altech Autopage being the headline sponsor of our team, you can imagine this event is an important one to Hanco and I. I say event and not race, because the Jozi2Kozi is focussed more on the rider experience as we traverse across our beautiful country for 7 days to Kozi Bay rather than racing there.
I’ve only heard good things about last year’s event and I’m sure this edition will live up to those.
With a couple of knee issues which have plagued me since a crash at Die Burger almost 3 weeks ago, I haven’t been able to ride much. It looks like these issues are now behind me with help from a physiotherapist, chiropractor and my coach changing my bike setup. I found the chiropractor to be particularly interesting as I had acupuncture for the first time, quite a weird but relatively painless experience. I think it has done the trick!
Hopefully with my knee ready to go, these 7 days will allow me to get in some good hours on the bike and this should stand me in good stead for a very busy end of season coming up. From the beginning of September to the Bridge Cape Pioneer Trek and the FNB Wines2Whales we will be racing flat out!
Have a good time love Mom
